Webs Electric is a project that's been sitting on my mind for a long time, but I really just don't have the time to sit down and fine tune the team. This is what I have for anyone who's interested, maybe it'll give some others ideas. If you'd like to offer up any input on how the team can improve you're more than welcome to do so in a polite manner.
I attempted to make this team Volt Turn + Webs rather than dedicating to either strategy, which is the cause of the odd team structure. Band Thundurus with U-Turn preys on Psychic teams, and Raikou forms the second part of the core used to take on those psychic teams offensively. Electivire is respectably strong physical attacker when Adamant and Orbed, and benefits greatly from the presence of webs on the field. Electivire is also 2 points faster than Jolly Gyarados as Adamant, which can be helpful against flying or water, and allows it to act as a secondary Pokemon to force out Hoopas that Slowbro doesn't wall. Zapdos and Eelektross are attempts at being the bulk part of the volt-turning structure meant to take the hits for the faster and more fragile teammates. Zapdos does this well enough, although I have my doubts about Eelektross. Eelektross was chosen as a special attacker instead of its ordinary role as a physical attacker because of lack of grass coverage and the presence of two other physical attackers. Galvantula was, of course, the web setter.
A couple 'odd' choices other than Eelektross are present, but I insist on those ones. Thunder Wave allows Galvantula to act as emergency utility and badly cripple an opposing attacker, and there will be times where Galvantula uses its Sash to paralyze a faster pokemon and then sets Webs before fainting, acting as a perfect lead in to the revenging teammate. The utility is far more useful than HP Ice's coverage in most instances and Galvantula is simply too weak to get significant mileage outside of Bug Buzz most of the time, so I'd rather leave the bug type attacking to Thundurus. Prankster Band Thunder Wave Thundurus seems bad on paper, but there's too many situations where Prankster Thunder Wave will win the game to not use it just because Band is being held. Zapdos having Defog is also something that I'd insist on. Leading with Galvantula as often as is safe may seem like a good idea, but it's really not. Galvantula can't prevent opposing setters from placing hazards, and it's too fragile to play without caution or care. It's often best to wait for just the right time to deploy webs, and in the meantime you are liable to need hazards to be off of your side of the field in order to stay in the game. So although Defog is anti-synergistic with Webs, it's best to have it anyway.
The weakest link in this team is probably Eelektross, making it the most replaceable. Please consider this when modifying the team for your own use or supplying your thoughts on the team. Have fun!
